The Serie A striker Man Utd, Liverpool and Spurs should be chasing

Fiorentina may only be one point adrift of Inter Milan at the top of the Serie A standings through 17 matches, but this is in no part thanks to the performances of supposed star striker Giuseppe Rossi.

The diminutive Italian has featured in nine league outings for La Viola and has failed to contribute a single goal.

Rossi’s agent has hinted that a January move is highly likely to boost his chances of being included in the Italy squad for Euro 2016 and a number of Premier League clubs could do plenty worse than take the player on loan, even despite his consistent knee problems.

After all, the 28-year-old netted 16 in 21 league appearances for Fiorentina in 2013/14 and reached double figures for La Liga goals in four of this five campaigns previously with Villarreal.

Tottenham

Spurs could certainly do with a second striker to share the burden with Harry Kane and Rossi has the attributes to be a threat in a lone-forward role.

His movement is especially good, whether looking to drift in behind or come short to retain possession and provide space for others to break into.

Rossi could find great success playing one-twos on the edge of the box with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli.

Man Utd

If it is more unpredictability in attack that the Red Devils require in their system that has looked far too rigid, Rossi has the capability to provide it.

His success in his earlier days was as a support striker and a partnership with Anthony Martial has the capability of proving highly lucrative.

His ability to drop off into space and drag defenders up the pitch is just what Martial would thrive off if more space was available in behind.

Liverpool

Given that the Reds already have Daniel Sturridge on their books, the last thing Jurgen Klopp really needs at present is another injury-ravaged striker.

However, what he does require is a reliable finisher capable of taking a high percentage of his chances.

Since Klopp’s arrival for the gameweek nine match with Tottenham, no Premier League team has had more goal attempts than Liverpool’s 182, with over 100 of these coming from inside opposing penalty boxes.

Yet, Liverpool have netted just 14 times in these 11 matches. Newcastle have scored only once less from virtually half the opportunities.

Rossi is among the best finishers in world football and a dozen goals from him could see Liverpool qualify for the Champions League.
