AFCON: Another Ghana late show headlines our 3 best bets

| 01.02.2015

Guinea may have been the winner of the Africa Cup of Nations’ ‘lots’ process but their luck is about to run out against Ghana.

Asamoah Gyan and co. have recovered from their poor start to this year’s competition and we’re backing them to seal a semi-final berth.

But rather than just focus on the traditional match markets, here are our best bets for Ghana v Guinea and the Ivory Coast v Algeria.

Ghana to score the last goal @ 7/10

Ghana were undone by a late winner against Senegal in their AFCON opener but since then they’ve certainly learnt from that harsh introduction.

Goals in the dying minutes of their respective games against Algeria and South Africa helped the Black Stars seal their passage to this quarter-final stage.

Meanwhile, Guinea have twice been ahead in matches in the competition so far before surrendering their advantage making them ripe for another sucker punch.

Ghana to win and both teams to score @ 17/4

While we fancy Ghana to progress we’re also not writing off Guinea’s chances of making this a closely-run affair.

The National Elephants have taken part in three score draws so far and also got on the scoresheet the last time these two sides met, a 3-1 defeat in AFCON qualifying last October.

Max Gradel to score at any time @ 19/5

If the Ivory Coast are to overcome Algeria this weekend then their star of the tournament so far could have a big say in proceedings.

Max Gradel has netted twice for Herve Renard’s team in Equatorial Guinea, including a crucial 35th-minute winner against Cameroon last time out.

Should The Elephants be in need of inspiration then trust the St. Etienne star to provide some magic.
