Champions League: 3 value goal-scorer punts for Tuesday night

Published:

While the Champions League returned to great fanfare and excitement, it was probably an easy decision to pick which game to watch from the first week of last-16 action.

As the third instalment of the first knockout round arrives though, the neutral will have a tough time choosing between the two games offered on Tuesday, as Juventus take on Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City test themselves against Barcelona.

With such high-calibre action in store it would be a shame not to have a flutter on a few goalscorer markets, especially with the news.ladbrokes team scouring the form to find the best value in each:

Sergio Aguero – Manchester City – 11/2 to score first v Barcelona

Only two men have opened the scoring more often in the Champions League this season than the Citizens go-to goalscorer.

Aguero has three first goals to his name in the current campaign and will be even more motivated to add to that tally than usual having featured in just 45 minutes of the Barcelona tie at this stage last year.

Barcelona have conceded in four of their last six games, to add to the Argentine’s confidence, and also shipped the first goal the last time they played in this competition.

Carlos Tevez – Juventus – 11/8 to score anytime v Borussia Dortmund

Tevez is once again carrying the Juve flag as far as goalscoring is concerned, leading the way with 14 in Serie A and adding three more in the Champions League.

He is in fine form ahead of this tie with the struggling Germans, netting seven times in his last nine outings.

Dortmund’s troubles have eased somewhat with three straight wins but still present themselves in defence, where they have conceded four times in their last two matches.

Adrian Ramos – Borussia Dortmund – 8/1 to score last v Juventus

The former Hertha Berlin front-man is used as an impact substitute by Jurgen Klopp, as evidenced by his measly six starts for the German club compared to 15 appearances off the pine.

He is yet to start a Champions League game this season, but has managed three goals, all of which have been the last in the match.
