Championship accumulator: Derby win heads Tuesday treble

Published:

The Champions League may be back in town but there is the small matter of three Championship games to be played tonight and with them an enticing treble opportunity.

Cardiff, Rotherham and Reading play host to Blackburn, Derby and Wigan and we’re tipping the Bluebirds, Rams and Royals to come good at odds of 10/1.

Read on to see why this bet could steal the limelight from the European action.

Cardiff to beat Blackburn @ 17/10

Rovers sent Premier League Stoke City packing in the FA Cup at the weekend and have won four of their last six games.

It may come as a surprise then  to see them tipped to lose against a Cardiff side winless in six matches.

However, Rovers have failed to win any of their last eight away games in the Championship and with the possibility of a cup hangover very real Cardiff could well extend their unbeaten run over the visitors to five games.

Derby to beat Rotherham @ 21/20

Derby can focus solely on their promotion dream after being dumped out of the cup over the weekend and a trip to the New York Stadium looks to be the perfect place for a return to winning ways.

Steve McClaren’s Rams have won eight of their last 12 matches on the road and with United winning just two of their last nine league games in front of their own fans Derby look primed to top the table by the end of the night.

Reading to beat Wigan @ evens

Reading may have exerted themselves to progress into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup but few things will ease them back into Championship life at present like a visit from Wigan.

The Latics have won just one of their last 12 games and haven’t beaten the Royals since 2007. And with the hosts losing just one of their last five it’s set to be business as usual at the Madejski Stadium.
