New Ladbrokes customers get Spurs at big odds to beat West Ham

Ladbrokes are taking a walk on the wild side with their latest sign-up offer by stretching Tottenham’s odds-on price to beat West Ham way out to 4/1.

The fact Mauricio Pochettino’s men are given a 5/6 chance of defeating their London rivals in the regular match odds market gives the first clue as to what a red-hot offering this is from the bookmakers.

The two sides have been experiencing contrasting fortunes of late and aside from a shock 3-0 West Ham win at White Hart Lane last season, Tottenham had won seven and lost none of the previous 11 home games against Hammers.

Only a handful of teams are in better form than Spurs in the Premier League at present, while Sam Allardyce’s men are in a rut.

Top-four hunting Tottenham have win four out of the last six, while the Hammers have only picked up a single victory in eight top-flight games, and that arrived five games ago at home to struggling Hull.

It’s head-scratching stuff for Big Sam, who has the added nuisance of Andy Carroll’s latest injury keeping him out for a number of weeks to come.

Pochettino has no such worries among his number as his Lilywhites side look to pick up their fifth league win in succession at the Lane, with victims during that run featuring Chelsea and Arsenal.

Meanwhile, a certain fellow by the name of Harry Kane might well be rubbing his hands. The darling of White Hart Lane has now scored 11 times in his last 10 Premier League appearances.
