The January transfer window has come and gone without Liverpool managing to buy a new goalkeeper, which means only one thing for followers of their transfer news; there will be endless stories linking them to one until the summer.
Almost as long-running as Brendan Rodgers’ insistence that all defensive players must be more refined on the ball than pure lump-it merchants, is his desire to bring in a shot-stopper to rival Simon Mignolet.

The Mexican’s irritation will be music to the ears of Liverpool, who will surely seek to prise him away from La Rosaleda come the summer.
