Six Nations week 3: A standout bet handpicked for each match

Published:

Rugby Union fans starved of action during the Six Nations’ interval will be licking their lips at the tournament’s return and there is plenty of betting opportunities to be taken for Ladbrokes customers.

Luckily the news.ladbrokes team didn’t take a rest at the same time as we’ve been busy digesting the first two weekend’s of action and digging up the stats to provide a choice wager for each of the three games.

Scotland v Italy – 1st half handicap betting: Scotland (-6.0) @ 11/10

Scotland went close to rubbing salt in Welsh wounds only to come up short by three points at Murrayfield last time, but only a win will do against Italy for Vern Cotter’s rapidly-improving side.

Getting a decent headstart on the Italians by half-time shouldn’t prove too difficult as the Azzuri have mustered just eight points by the break across their opening two matches, while Scotland have registered 18.

France v Wales – Wales to beat France @ 11/8

This looks a fine price on Warren Gatland’s men given the Red Dragon are chasing a fourth consecutive Six Nations victory over the French.

Wales are boosted by George North’s return while Les Bleus have made five changes, three enforced, and have only scored one try across their opening fixtures, compared to three for the Welsh.

Ireland v England – First team to score a try: England @ 1/1

The game of the weekend is unquestionably taking place in Dublin and while it’s too close to call, England have shown greater flair in possession, resulting in eight tries already.

Compare that with only two tries for Joe Schmidt’s defending champions – who have also faced wooden spoon favourites Italy – and one of England’s number grounding a five-point score first looks a beauty.
