Tottenham v Fiorentina: High-scoring stalemate to grace the Lane

Prior to being drawn against each other in the competition’s first knockout stage, Tottenham and Fiorentina were among the favourites to win the Europa League this season, but only one of them will still harbour such dreams once they have met.
Spurs have the honour of hosting first, with their status as the home side earning them favouritism to win the first leg at a price of 1/1. The visiting Italians have odds of 11/4 dangling from the necks as they arrive in north London, but it’s a high-scoring draw that we anticipate:
The string of games that Mauricio Pochettino’s side has scored in stretches to 11 before this Europa League encounter, with six of those matches in the chain coming at White Hart Lane. Both teams have scored in nine of those 11 games too.
For the Viola, their run of scoring stands at eight consecutive games, while they have notched in four straight on their travels with backers of this bet being paid out seven times during that run.
That’s not a typo; this game is going to go off. On Fiorentina’s road trips this season the Serie A club have only been kept at bay twice and they’ve score two or more goals in eight of their 16 games away from Artemio Franchi.
Meanwhile all of Spurs’ last five games in all competitions have seen at least three goals scored.
Both sides are in fine form. The Lilywhites have lost just once in 12 at White Hart Lane while their opponents touch down in north London on an eight-game unbeaten streak.
Taking the game back to Florence with all things being equal will suit both parties.
