Louis van Gaal has been a gift to the Premier League this season. From his refreshing hatred of the technical area to an impressive ability to find untried positions for Wayne Rooney, there can be little doubt of the joys the Dutchman brings to the top flight.

Better than anything else he offers, though, comes in pre and post match dealings with the press.

After losing 3-0 to Everton at Goodison Park the Iron Tulip offered this as his left-field reasoning for the slip up:

“I had already the feeling (of defeat) and my colleagues Ryan Giggs and Albert Stuivenberg had the feeling because the warm up was not so good as usual.”
