Oasis your pick to headline Glastonbury but Coldplay favs

We asked the question and you gave us your emphatic answer – Oasis are the one band you would love to see at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

Given the Gallagher brothers’ continuing feud the chances of watching them perform together in Somerset may be little more than a pipedream.

But that didn’t stop 52 per cent of you voting them your choice to be one of the ‘special guests’ mentioned on posters promoting the event.

Re-formed Fleetwood Mac took second spot in our latest Ladbrokes News poll while The Stone Roses made it into third on 13 per cent.

Former Britpop rivals Blur languished behind Oasis with seven per cent of the vote alongside Iron Maiden.

And despite Glasto organisers’ recent nod towards hip-hop talent, Eminem failed to capture the imagination.

However, what do the bookmakers think of Oasis’ chances of making an appearance?

Coldplay are the 3/1 favourites to headline the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday evening with The Stone Roses a 4/1 shot to close out the festival.

Madonna and Blur share odds of 5/1 with Oasis priced at 8/1.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The betting’s wide open, but it’s Oasis that punters are desperate to see reform at Glastonbury. Stranger things have happened, but sadly for fans of the Gallagher brothers it looks like it will be a special Sunday for Coldplay.”
