Club Brugge’s surprise European success this season is likely to come at a price for the Belgian club with several of continents big names already circling the Europa League quarter-finalists with a view to picking off one of their prized stars.

We’ve already featured five Brugge stars linked with a move to the Premier League but, of the quintet, there is only one who could yet be the subject of a transfer tug-of-war between two of the league’s biggest sides.

Mat Ryan is in the midst of 12 months to remember for both club and country.

Current number one between the sticks for Australia at international, the 22-year-old was among the youngsters to impress at the World Cup in Brazil.

More recently, he was one of the star performers for the Socceroos team that lifted the Asian Cup back in January of this year.

Belgian Pro League Goalkeeper of the Year for the past two seasons, Ryan has also been in superb form in the Europa League.

The star performer for the Belgian side in a group stage draw against Torino in Italy, the Australian was in his element once again against Dnipro last week.

Responsible for a string of fine saves, the high point came late in the game with the ‘keeper denying Yevhen Konoplyanka what looked to be a certain goal.

Linked with a move to Liverpool back in January amid concerns over Simon Mignolet’s form, Tottenham previously took Ryan on trial as a youngster and could yet return to him with rumours continuing to circulate linking Hugo Lloris with a move away from White Hart Lane.

Quick, confident on the ball and boasting excellent reflexes, more impressive performances in Europe could see one of Spurs or the Reds racing to secure his signature this summer.
