How Twitter reacted to Chelsea’s slim win over Man Utd

Published:

In archetypal Jose Mourinho fashion, Chelsea soaked up every drop of pressure Manchester United applied in their 1-0 win over the Red Devils at Stamford Bridge to take another step closer to claiming the Premier League title.

Eden Hazard grabbed the only goal of the game as the Blues proved their mettle in seeing off an in-form Louis van Gaal outfit even without their two first-choice strikers available.

Here’s the best of the reaction from Twitter to the slim, hard-fought victory:

Former Blue Mario Melchiot was left in little doubt who should claim the Player of the Year prize at the end of the season after watching Chelsea’s match-winner.

Hazard’s goal came after a poor pass out of defence by Chris Smalling and Sky Sports’ Jamie Carragher thought it was typical of the Special One’s approach to big matches.

Radamel Falcao was afforded a rare start due to United’s injury woes, but largely failed to impress during a blunt first half for the Colombian.

Predictably after such an ineffective display, the jokes started flowing.

As Chelsea continued to nullify the Red Devils’ advances, Ander Herrera had claims for a penalty turned down, mainly because he has to be touched before a foul can be awarded.

In the end the Manchester outfit left London with their tail between their legs and with their manager bemused at the final result.
