Red-faced Chelsea star’s dismissal voted craziest of all time

We asked the question and you’ve given your answer. Cesc Fabregas’ sending-off at West Brom last night has been voted the craziest of all time by Ladbrokes News readers.

The Spaniard was shown a red card after kicking the ball towards a crowd of Baggies players – and referee Mike Jones – with Chris Brunt receiving a bump on the head for his troubles.

Whether the Blues star’s actions were accidental or intentional, you’ve decided that Cesc’s punishment was downright ridiculous.

Either that or you have very short memories when it came to our other options.

Chelsea midfielder Fabregas took 40 per cent of the vote to win our accolade with Dorchester Town player-manager Ashley Vickers second on 18 per cent following his dismissal for tackling a streaker.

Former Northern Ireland international David Healy was third on our list with 16 per cent of you ridiculing the decision to send him back down to the tunnel for his goal celebrations against Wales.

That left Dnipro’s Samuel Inkoom, Neymar Jr and Hakan Unsal fighting it out to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon.

Turkey hero Unsal received the least sympathy. That’s despite the fact that the referee responsible for giving his marching orders was so obviously conned by a shameful display of playacting from Rivaldo in 2002.
