Rosler’s good but Redfearn treatment at Leeds is unfair, says Kammy

Leeds United’s flamboyant chairman Massimo Cellino has wasted little time in re-establishing his presence at the club following his return from a Football League ban.

The appointment of Uwe Rosler this week brought the number of head coaches appointed by the Italian to five in less than a year.

And while top pundit and ex-Leeds midfielder Chris Kamara believes it’s a good move by the club he is unhappy about the way the man he’s replacing has been treated.

Kammy told Ladbrokes News: “I just feel sorry for Neil Redfearn. He’s come in under difficult circumstances and done better than expected. But he was always on a downer and never given enough credit.

“Instead, he’s just been another pawn and statistic on Cellino’s CV of managerial sackings.

“Neil couldn’t have done any more for that football club.

“He wants to work and he won’t be happy with the way things have turned out.“

Redfearn guided Leeds to mid-table respectability in the Championship having accepted a 12-month rolling contract last November.

And although that deal included the option to return to academy coaching duties if needs be it’s still not clear whether the 49-year-old wishes to carry on under those terms.

However, looking to the future Kammy did offer words of support for the new man at the helm.

“Uwe Rosler did a great job at Brentford. Unfortunately things went wrong at Wigan but it just goes to show how a club can go into free-fall and how hard it can be to reverse that,” he added.
