A fight that was five years in the making was over in a flash as Floyd “Money” Mayweather put on a boxing clinic to defeat Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao by a unanimous decision and remain undefeated.
Displaying the kind of elusiveness and strategic nous that has made him the best fighter in his generation, Mayweather eased to a 48th professional win, despite Pacquiao claiming he did enough to take the victory in the immediate aftermath.
As a sporting event that gripped the globe, many tweets were sent about the fight. Here are a sample of some of the best:
Mike Tyson tipped Pacquiao to win, but was left unimpressed by Mayweather’s defensive approach:
