Poll: How many goals will Anthony Martial score against Liverpool?

| 10.09.2015

Anthony Martial has been dubbed an expensive flop at Old Trafford before he has even kicked a ball in the Premier League.

Former Arsenal man Ray Parlour has predicted that the French teenager will struggle to justify his £36m price tag and will ultimately go down as waste of money.

“I look forward to seeing him play, but I think it’s going to be a miss, because the money they’ve spent is an unbelievable amount,” he told Sky Sports.

‘If he proves to be like a Thierry Henry, which is what a lot of people are saying, then he could obviously be a great signing, but I think it is a massive gamble to take on a 19-year-old kid. With the money they’ve put out, I could be totally wrong, but I’m going to say miss on that one.”

Here at Ladbrokes News we think the Romford Pele may have jumped the gun a little and with the Red Devils’ new signing primed to make his debut against Liverpool this weekend we’re asking you to have your say on how many goals the new recruit will score against the Reds.

Martial may have bags of potential but at present we only have a handful of stats to rely on and they show a return of just 15 goals in 72 games as a pro.

His strike rate is on the up, however, with 12 of those goals coming in a 46-game campaign last year.

Comparisons with Henry are sure to follow Martial for many years, but the Arsenal legend failed to net in his first eight games as a Gunner so Martial has plenty of time to emulate his countryman’s start to life in England.
