Crystal Palace v Sunderland: Hosts set to find form at home

| 23.11.2015

Crystal Palace’s home form in the Premier League this season hasn’t exactly been enthralling, but when they return to top-flight action at Selhurst Park against Sunderland on Monday night it will get the jump-start it needs.

Only five teams have collected fewer points in front of their own fans than Alan Pardew’s side this term, but should have little trouble adding the maximum available to their tally when they welcome Sam Allardyce’s strugglers.

Sunderland are the only remaining top-flight team yet to win on the road and have lost all bar one of their league road trips in the campaign thus far.

Their solitary point came against fellow relegation fighters Aston Villa back in August and the side have lost the four games since then by an aggregate of 12-2.

Despite Palace’s preference for away games Sunderland have the misfortune of crossing them after a confidence-filling road win at Liverpool before the international break.

Unsurprisingly then, Ladbrokes make the hosts the 8/15 favourites to prevail, with the Black Cats quoted at 5/1 to gain a much-needed victory and the draw available at 3/1.

Five of the eight games held at Selhurst in all competitions this season have had over 2.5 goals and the bookmaker goes 17/20 that Sunderland’s visit follows the same path. Incidentally, four of Sunderland’s six away games all told have also landed bets of over 2.5 goals.

Both teams have found the net in three of the last four fixtures between the pair and customers with a penchant for special offers can snap up Ladbrokes’ price boost that Palace claim the win and both teams find the net, which is out from 9/4 to 11/4.

Alternatively, you can get double the odds on the first goalscorer should your winning selection bag inside the opening 25 minutes. Connor Wickham and Frazier Campbell share favouritism to nab the game’s first goal, at odds of 9/2.
