Fantasy Football: Back to business after the international break

Published:

The international break is over and the Premier League clubs are preparing to get right back into the swing of things.

They aren’t the only ones as the Ladbrokes Life quintet looks to get back to business when the domestic stuff kicks off again.

Have The Professor, Generous John, The Gut Truster, Mr Brightside and The Believer made the right choices ahead of Gameweek 13?

You can be the judge as we run you through their changes for the week.

I’ve finally succumbed and have decided to change one of my three Newcastle players. Mitrovic is the one to get the boot, I really like the Serb but he just hasn’t got the goals I’ve been expecting from him so a change had to be made.

Kone is the player that gets the nod. The Everton frontman has been on top form this season and with Villa up next i expect him to net.

Vardy remains my captain and I’m punting on him to equal that goalscoring record in the north east.

Surely with Kane, Vardy and Kone as my strike force I can finally kick-on and get myself back in the game. If it doesn’t work out this week, expect drastic changes.

The international break has given me time to reflect on my team and I need to start making the right decisions and get a bit of luck if I’m going to climb the Ladbrokes Life League.

Kevin De Bruyne was an expensive option that hasn’t paid off and for that reason he makes way for the ever reliable and in-form Riyad Mahrez. Leicester’s midfield man has been unplayable at times and drafting him in will hopefully be the change needed to make up ground on those above me.

Petr Cech is two clean sheets away from breaking the Premier League record and the game at West Brom gives him the perfect opportunity to move a step closer in achieving this. The Baggies haven’t been scoring many this year and the Gunners boast one of the tightest defences in the league.

I’ve given the captaincy to Alexis Sanchez. Arsenal’s form away from home has been something to admire and if Arsene Wenger’s side are to leave the Hawthorns with the three points I’m sure Sanchez will play a pivotal role in making that happen.

While I’ve not had to make a transfer this week, my starting XI gets a shake up with Koscielny coming in for the injured Payet.

That forces the team into a back four, but I’ve earned plenty of points from the boys at the back and I’m hoping this continues this week.

Arsenal have been quality on the road and for that reason Sanchez gets the armband. The Gunners will have too much for the Baggies and the Chilean will be play a big part in the result come Saturday.

Kane bagged himself a goal in the North London derby and four more in the two previous games. Spurs’ main man is back and I expect his great run to continue this Sunday at home to the Hammers. What more can be said about Jamie Vardy? His scintillating form continues, the forward took a small knock last week but let’s hope he’s back this week and getting on the scoresheet…again.
