Poll: Is Van Gaal the right man for Manchester United?

| 26.11.2015

Manchester United’s Champions League aspirations hang in the balance after a toothless display at Old Trafford in last night’s 0-0 draw with PSV.

The stalemate leaves the Red Devils having to match the Eredivisie outfit’s result in the last round of group matches to ensure progression to the knockout stages.

And in a further blow to the Man United boss there have been reports one high profile star among the United squad has moaned he is “half the player” he could be under Van Gaal, which is neither fair to him or the Old Trafford faithful.

Despite the Dutchman leading United back into the top four last season, and on the strength of a solid defence up to second in the league this season, there appears to be growing discontent among United’s fans.

Van Gaal’s pragmatic, possession-first style of play may make the Red Devils hard to beat but the lack of pace, flair and creativity is leaving many supporters restless.

Are the fans right to demand a return of the ‘United way’? Or are they being unrealistic in hoping for a continuation of the football played under Sir Alex Ferguson?

Have your say today by letting us know if you think Van Gaal is the right man to take United forward. And if not, let us know who could do a better job in the comments section below.
