Schalke winger added to growing list of Man Utd targets

| 20.11.2015

Manchester United seem to be linked with a new player every day and today is no different.

Reports are suggesting that the Red Devils could be eyeing up a move for 19-year-old Schalke winger Leroy Sane.

Sane joins Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez, Anwar El Ghazi and Arjen Robben on the list of wingers being linked with a move to Old Trafford.

The Germany international has gained a lot of potential suitors and Louis van Gaal may have to see off competition from Liverpool to get his man.

After making his first tentative steps into the first team last season, Sane is now an established regular at Schalke and is performing admirably in the Bundesliga.

He’s scored four times in 11 league appearances and his tally in all competitions is five in 15.

The winger has also provided three assists in that time, while his average of three dribbles per game is the fourth best in the division.

However, he doesn’t appear to be the best option available to the Red Devils when comparing him to the other signings being linked.

Mane, Mahrez and Robben all have Premier League experience which would help them settle down quickly if moving in January.

Furthermore the Southampton and Leicester City stars are already proving they can produce the goods this season, with United likely to view this as a positive in their quest for attacking revitalisation.

Sane may have the edge of El Ghazi though, as Van Gaal has already dealt with the difficulties of trying to get the best out of a player who shone in the Eredivisie with Memphis Depay not delivering this season.
