West Ham v West Brom: Hosts poised to lengthen patchy Pulis run

Published:

West Ham can bounce back to winning ways with a 21/20 home victory over West Brom, putting a trying period behind them against a poor-travelling side with a boss who has never really taken to East London.

Baggies gaffer Tony Pulis’ record at the Boleyn Ground isn’t great, with two wins in seven games against the Irons during his time with Stoke, although the 57-year-old also managed victory in his only visit in charge of Crystal Palace a couple of seasons back.

He may see Slaven Bilic’s faltering outfit as the perfect opponents for West Brom to improve on a run of three losses in four away fixtures, but the Irons have yet to go four games without a win since the Croatian took over during the summer, and their home form has improved drastically in recent weeks.

West Ham have taken a not-too-shabby eight points from their past 12 available at home, drawing with in-form Everton last time out and beating an admittedly-poor Chelsea side at headquarters for the only the second time since 2003 at the end of last month.

Ladbrokes have boosted West Ham to win and both teams to score from 3/1 to 4/1, and this could be a nice way to make your home win bet go further in a fixture that has had more than its fair share of goals of late.

A whopping 16 have been struck in their past four Premier League meetings in the Capital, with both the Irons and the Baggies registering in all of those games.

The bookies also roll out their DOUBLE ODDS 1ST GOALSCORER offer for this live clash, meaning you’ll get twice the quoted price if your pick bags the opener within the first 25 minutes.

Despite West Ham’s recent travails, Manuel Lanzini has chipped in with two in the last two games, including a 30th-minute opener in the 1-1 draw with Everton. At 8/1, he looks a very credible bet.
