POLL: Leicester won’t win the league, but Foxes will be top four

Published:

It has been a stunning year for Leicester City, but they won’t be winning the Premier League this season, according to Ladbrokes News voters.

You still fancy the Foxes for a top four spot however and a subsequent place in next season’s Champions League. Leicester versus Barcelona at the King Power?

Claudio Ranieri took over from Nigel Pearson in the summer and his side have suffered defeat just once this term.

A 3-0 win over Swansea on Saturday was the latest statement of intent from the East Midlands club, who have shrunk from 5000/1 pre-season to just 28/1 to win the Premier League.

With Chelsea all at sea this year, Liverpool adapting under a new manager, Arsenal suffering an injury crisis, Manchester United struggling for goals and Manchester City unable to live without Vincent Kompany, everyone is wondering if Leicester can actually go the distance this year.

We’re only four games away from the campaign’s midway point, but 39 per cent of you said Ranieri’s men will end up with a top four place, rather than winning the league this season.

It’s a huge signal of Leicester’s credentials however that 24 per cent of voters said the Foxes will be champions come May, and what a story that would be.

A solid 27 per cent fancy the Foxes to hang on for a top six spot while a handful reckon Jamie Vardy and co will slip out of the European spots but maintain a top ten placing.

And as for a cynical few (Aston Villa fans maybe?) they say Leicester will have a dismal second half of the year and not even claim a top half place at the season’s end.

Odds with Ladbrokes of 6/1 for Leicester to finish in the bottom ten suggests the Tinkerman will have something to say about that…
