Former defender the perfect choice for next Man Utd manager

Reports coming out today suggest that the man to take over at Manchester United, if Louis van Gaal is given his marching orders, will be Laurent Blanc.
The 50-year-old spent two years at Old Trafford before he ended his playing career and has gone on to become an accomplished manager.
Paris Saint-Germain are 22 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with the former defender at the helm and the manager has also won that league on three separate occasions – one of those with Bordeaux – along with the Coupe de France once and Coupe de la Ligue three times.
Furthermore, unlike Van Gaal, he was able to guide his side out of the Champions League group stage, but may be tempted to return to his old stomping ground due to the lack of competitiveness in France.
Blanc is currently priced at 40/1 to take be the next person to take the Man Utd hot seat, with Eddie Howe and Carlo Ancelotti, who was recently confirmed to be taking over at Bayern Munich, sharing that price.
This is a great bet for anyone looking to cash in early on the French manager heading to Old Trafford, with the former Red Devils player having an advantage over the other frontrunners.
Jose Mourinho is the current favourite to take over and is the preferred choice for many United fans.
However, his style of football is even more defensive than Van Gaal’s and given the backlash against the performances during this campaign, it would be a big risk to bring in another boss who doesn’t operate with attacking tactics.
Pep Guardiola is second favourite, but according to a number of reports he is almost certain to be taking over at Manchester City instead.
That leaves Ryan Giggs, the third favourite, who like Blanc is a former player for Man Utd and this could help win supporters round.
Yet, Van Gaal’s assistant lacks experience in the managerial domain and the current PSG manager has a much more impressive CV.
