Aberdeen to leap over Inverness banana skin with goals

Aberdeen’s latest streak has put them back on Celtic’s coattails in the hunt for the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership title.
With the Bhoys beating Ross County 2-0 last time out, the pressure is on the Dons to beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle on the road and return the top of the league to parity.
If that didn’t make the task tough enough, Caley are the only side in the division that Derek McInnes’ men haven’t beaten this term.
A 2-1 defeat to John Hughes’ side in Inverness back in September, during a five-game winless league run, was followed by a 2-2 stalemate at home on Boxing Day. Even that day an Adam Rooney penalty in the 90th minute spared the hosts’ blushes.
It’s fair to say, then, that Caley have quickly become the Dons’ bogey side. There shouldn’t be too much fear amongst the Aberdeen faithful though, as their club won all four meetings in the league last season and arrive back at Caledonian Stadium having won their last four.
Their hosts, by comparison, have gone two games without victory in the league and have won just three of their last nine at home.
The league sponsors therefore make the visitors favourites for the victory, at a price of 10/11, with Hughes’ outfit a 3/1 shot and the draw available at 12/5. Although the biggest guarantee in the game is goals.
Aberdeen’s last three away games in the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership have seen four, five and seven goals scored respectively. Meanwhile, half of Caley’s last six at their own ground have seen three or more bagged.
