Transfer failings sees Remi Garde nearing Aston Villa exit door

Remi Garde has seen his odds of being the next Premier League manager to leave slashed in the wake of a dismal January transfer window.
The Frenchman has tumbled from 6/1 to evens favourite to become the next Premier League boss to vacate his post, having failed to sign a player last month.
As Seydou Doumbia, Mathieu Debuchy, Loic Remy and Wahbi Khazri all went elsewhere, Villa were left to sit and watch their relegation rivals boost their chances with numerous signings.
Garde himself has now hinted he may consider his position, with the Villans ten points from safety at the foot of the table.
Former Leicester manager Nigel Pearson and current Villa first team coach Eric Black appear to be the frontrunners to fill Garde’s shoes, with the pair joint-favourites at 3/1 to be the next boss at Villa Park.
Garry Monk is a 4/1 shot to make a swift return to Premier League management after his departure from Swansea in the Autumn.
A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Garde’s days at Villa Park look numbered after seeing all his transfer targets head elsewhere, and it appears Villa fans will be welcoming a new manager sooner rather than later.”
Meanwhile it’s a 5/1 shot that either ex-Man United or Liverpool boss David Moyes or Brendan Rodgers make their return to the managers hotseat in the Claret part of Birmingham.
The likes of Steve Clarke and Roy Keane are outsiders at 14s, as are Michael Laudrup at 18/1 while it’s a long shot at 20s that either Harry Redknapp or Neil Warnock are handed the reins at Villa Park.
