Will Chelsea let Gary Cahill move to Merseyside on Deadline Day?

Published:

Merseyside giants Liverpool and Everton currently lead the way in the race to sign Gary Cahill but will Chelsea be prepared to let the 30-year-old defender leave Stamford Bridge?

Cahill went on record last week to voice his unhappiness about not being a regular starter, prompting speculation that Jurgen Klopp’s Reds would make a move.

However, John Terry’s announcement that he’ll be leaving Chelsea at the end of this season could hamper Cahill’s chances of securing a deal away from west London.

Liverpool are 7/2 favourites to snap-up the wantaway England star while it’s a 7/1 shot that the former Bolton man opts for a switch to Goodison Park.

Meanwhile, a move to Manchester United is available at the same price although whether a Deadline Day deal will materialise remains to be seen.

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has told talkSPORT of his admiration for Cahill but recent events at Chelsea could have put paid to any departure.
