With its rise in coverage and interest, this season’s WSL promises to be the biggest and most competitive yet.
What is the WSL?
The Women’s Super League is the highest division of women’s football in England, and this season sees an expansion of teams competing from eight to nine.
Who won last season?
The last two seasons has seen the title race going down to the very final day, with Chelsea clinching the trophy in dramatic fashion last year, edging rivals Man City.
When does it start?
The season kicks off tonight with Arsenal, who are 21/10 to win and both teams to score, Man City and Liverpool all in action.
Which teams come into the WSL newly promoted?
Reading, who play strong title contenders Arsenal tonight, and Notts County, who are up against Man City in their first WSL fixture. Whilst they may seem like easy games for two of the top teams in the league, it was Notts County who narrowly missed out on FA Cup glory last year, losing to Chelsea just 1-0 at Wembley, and they’re an enticing 13/2 to beat Man City tonight.
How can I watch it?
BT Sport have announced they are to televise one game in each round of the WSL, starting with Doncaster Rovers Belles v Chelsea on March 24 (kick-off 19:15).
