PSG favourites to snag West Ham’s Dimitri Payet

Dimitri Payet is odds-on to remain a West Ham player next season but the club appear powerless to keep him out of the clutches of a Europe’s elite for much longer than that.

That is according to the latest odds from Ladbrokes which suggest the Frenchman is staying put for now with odds of 4/11 on Payet being an Irons player on September 1 this year.

It’s a 2/1 shot that the former Marseille man is sold in the summer and should that be the case a return to his homeland appears on the cards with PSG the 3/1 favourites to secure his services.

Payet sent is already sky high stock soaring this weekend with a wonder strike against Manchester United in the FA Cup and this is evident in the fact that La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are next in the betting at 6/1.

Closer to home all the Premier League clubs are credited with an interest and Manchester City lead the pack at 6/1.

Arsenal (7/1), Manchester United (8/1), Tottenham (10/1), Chelsea (10/1) and Juventus (10/1) are also in the running as is a move to any Chinese Super League side at 10/1.

An MLS adventure appears unlikely any time soon at odds of 25/1 but a few more performances like that at the weekend and the 28-year-old is likely to have his pick of the clubs.

A Ladbrokes spokesman said: “Payet has been a revelation at Upton Park this season and Slaven Bilic has a job on hands to keep him.

“While he’s clearly destined to reach the top we think he’ll give Irons fans at least another season before moving on, most probably to PSG.”
