Footy fans split over how far Harry Kane can go
Published:Football fans are split on the subject of just how much Tottenham striker Harry Kane can achieve, according to a new poll.
After bagging a brace against Stoke on Monday night the 22-year-old Spurs ace now has exactly the same number of goals – 48 – as Alan Shearer did at the same age.
On the back of that statistic we asked our Twitter followers to vote on whether or not Kane can go on to eclipse Shearer’s all-time Premier League record of 260 strikes.
And while there was plenty of support for the current England man the jury is still out, with 50 per cent of the voters backing Kane to fulfil his potential and overtake Shearer before hanging up his boots.
At 22, Harry Kane has already got 48 Premier League goals. Will he beat Shearer’s record?

Of course this means that 50 per cent do not feel he is equipped to maintain his current scoring rate for long enough to surpass the former Southampton, Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle man.
Kane will next be in action on April 25 when title-chasing Spurs play host to West Brom. The Lilywhites go into the game as 2/9 favourites, with the Baggies 14/1 for the win and a draw priced up at 5/1.
Another goal or two for Kane and not only will his 1/3 price to be crowned top Premier League scorer shorten further still, but some of those doubting his ability to topple Shearer could start to come round.
