Looking at the 19-year-old Ajax man being targeted by Chelsea

As Chelsea prepare for a big summer overhaul following their poor defence of the Premier League, the gossip columns continually feature the Blues.

According to The Sun, the west Londoners are preparing to make a £24m bid for Ajax’s Riechedly Bazoer.

Many may be surprised to see the English champions looking to spend so much on a player without a great reputation on these shores, but when looking at the youngster further you can see why this would be a good move.

Bazoer already has 55 Ajax appearances to his name after breaking into the first team last season, becoming an integral part of the team at such a young age.

In addition to this he has five Eredivisie goals to his name this term highlighting the attacking threat the midfielder has.

His achievements with the Amsterdam outfit have not gone unnoticed by others, with Real Madrid being linked to the youngster earlier in the season.

Furthermore, the 19-year-old has already begun to make an impact in international football.

Bazoer was part of the Holland team that won the UEFA European U-17 Championship in 2012 and has progressed through all the youth ranks of the national set up.

His progression was completed when he earned his first cap for the senior side in November last year, coming on as a substitute in the friendly against Wales.

A deal for the Ajax man would be a particularly good idea when you consider the about the quality of players produced by the club.

Wesley Sneijder, Dennis Bergkamp, Clarence Seedorf and of course Zlatan Ibrahimovic have all come through the ranks of the Dutch giants.
