Tottenham all set for a 3-0 Monday night romp over West Brom

Published:

For the second week running Spurs will play a day after learning Leicester City’s latest result. If it goes anything like their last Monday Night Football appearance, they won’t mind a bit.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side put four past Stoke to send the Foxes a clear message of intent last week and will once again take to the field looking to pressurise the league leaders.

This time the Lilywhites are playing at home, where they have been metronomic in picking up points this season.

West Brom are the latest visitors to north London, looking to become just the third Premier League team to beat Spurs on their own patch. However, doing so is going to be almost impossible.

The Baggies have won just four league games during the campaign but, more importantly are the third worst scoring team on the road. Against an almost watertight Spurs defence, their task is of an Everest size.

With eight clean sheets in 17 games at White Hart Lane, Spurs have proved a tough nut to crack in front of their own fans and with West Brom scoring just 12 of their 31 goals away from the Hawthorns another shutout looks on the cards.

A Tottenham win to nil can be backed at 8/11 with Ladbrokes, which may look stingily priced at first glance, but is far more appealing when given the context of a 1/4 Spurs victory of any kind.

Alternatively, a correct score of 3-0, at 11/2, could be the route to take.

Both of the Lilywhites’ last two league home games have ended in a 3-0 win, over Bournemouth and Man United respectively, while the side have recorded four of those scorelines in total this season, more than any other club.
