The time has almost come for a Ladbrokes Championship Player of the Year to be named and with Rangers strolling to the title it’s no surprise to see the Ibrox club well represented.

We asked our Twitter followers to have their say after the shortlist was announced and Rangers’ strike ace Martyn Waghorn was the clear winner with 37 per cent of the votes.

It was a close-run thing for second but Gers captain Lee Wallace just edged it with 22 per cent of the voters saying he should scoop the award.

That meant Hibs youngster John McGinn, who has put in a number of dazzling displays for Alan Stubbs’ side this season, completed the top three with 22 per cent.

And last – but by no means least – was fellow Hibee Jason Cummings. The 20-year-old has smashed 24 goals in 42 games this season – and just three fewer than 20-goal top scorer Waghorn in the league.

There’s still a few games to go too so there’s plenty of opportunities between now and the end of the season for these for to stake further claims to be crowned number one.
