Louis van Gaal odds-on to leave Manchester United this summer

Last week’s defeat at West Ham has cost Manchester United their chance of a top-four Premier League finish and it now looks likely to cost manager Louis van Gaal his job too.
The Dutch gaffer is now just 1/2 to leave the north-west giants this summer, but an exit from Old Trafford wouldn’t necessarily mean leaving English football.
It’s 5/1 that the 64-year-old will manage a different Premier League club next season while it’s 6/4 for Van Gaal to still be in the Old Trafford hotseat at the start of next season.
Despite the Red Devils’ disappointing season this time out, it’s 8/11 that they bounce back with a top-four finish next season. But who will be at the United helm by then?
Jose Mourinho is the 1/3 hot favourite to succeed the former Netherlands boss, with Laurent Blanc – who spent two seasons as a Man United player – is next in the betting at 5/1.
Current Red Devils’ assistant manager Ryan Giggs is an 8/1 shot to take the top job, with Diego Simeone a 20/1 outsider to swap Madrid for Manchester.
Meanwhile, our traders have all but ruled out a sensational return for legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson at 50/1.
A Ladbrokes News spokesman said: “Failing to secure a top-four spot after spending the big bucks last summer means Van Gaal is unlikely to be at Old Trafford next season.”
“Jose is hot favourite to take over the Dutchman’s duties, ending the will-they-won’t-they saga which has rumbled on between Mourinho and Man United.”
The Red Devils welcome Bournemouth tonight, with the hosts hoping to end their league campaign on a high. It’s 8/13 for a United win, with the visitors 19/4 and the draw on at 16/5.
