Nemoralia can deliver for final day favourite backers at York

Published:

The final day of this year’s Dante Festival is upon us with the Yorkshire Cup Friday’s feature contest on the Knavesmire.

We’ve already seen more than a few Classic clues revealed and there could be even more seasonal pointers on show once the action gets underway.

It’s fair to say our man Frankie Dettori is having a pretty good week and the Ladbrokes racing ambassador will be hoping for more of the same at York.

Get stuck in and remember it’s Money Back if 2nd or 3rd to the SP Favourite in all Channel 4 races!*

NAP – Nemoralia – York 15:30

Frankie is back onboard this extremely talented filly as she makes her reappearance following an autumn spent in the States.

Jeremy Noseda’s entrant is 10lb clear of her rivals on official ratings and certainly looks the one to beat following a third at the Breeders’ Cup and runner-up placing in a top-level event before that.

York’s mile should be no problem and she should have enough to see off the likes of Thetis and Czabo.

NB – Flying Officer – York 16:05

We’re not biased, honest. It’s another Frankie pick and on current form who can blame us?

Flying Officer was a decent third in the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot last time out and he looks set to put the runner-up that day, Clever Cookie, back in his place.

Our selection finished in front of his re-opposing rival in the Long Distance Cup last October and now back on level terms we’re backing Dettori’s runner to reassert his authority.

Lively Longshot – Fattsota – York 16:40

It’s tough to argue against the leading claims of race favourite Barsanti given his recent form but that hasn’t stopped us looking elsewhere.

Big-priced winners aren’t too rare in this event with five of the last seven returning odds of 7/1 or greater and in David O’Meara’s Fattsota we’re hoping to continue that trend.

Jockey Danny Tudhope prefers this mount to stablemate Chancery and that decision could prove to be significant.

This selection will need a bit of luck in-running but given the eight-year-old’s experience and previous history of winning at this level we reckon he’s worth taking a chance on .
