Pep Guardiola 11/4 to suffer eternal Champions League woe

Pep Guardiola is just 11/4 to never win the Champions League again, following his latest semi-final exit from the competition this week.

Bayern Munich’s away goals loss to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night ensured Guardiola will end his reign in Germany without lifting the famous old trophy.

It’s now five years since Pep last led a club all the way to victory in Europe’s biggest competition, and after Manchester City also fell at the semi-final hurdle this week, it’s odds-on at 2/7 that Pep can’t bring European success to the Etihad either.

Those who do fancy the new union to bring continental glory however, can get on odds of 5/2.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “For all his success, many will define Pep’s Bayern career by his Champions League failings, and the jury is out over what he can achieve with Man City.”

City play their final home match under Manuel Pellegrini this weekend, with Arsenal the visitors in a crunch Premier League tie.

The game could have huge implications on this season’s top-four race, with Guardiola potentially taking over the Citizens without Champions League football.

City are 7/5 for a vital three points on Sunday afternoon, with Arsene Wenger’s Gunners – unbeaten in eight games – 9/5 for victory.
