Punter reckons he’s got England’s first Euros XI worked out

With Euro 2016 fever building across the country, the topic of which men will make it into Roy Hodgson’s starting line-up can be heard in pubs across the nation. And one fan reckons he knows who’ll be taking to the field for England in the opening game against Russia.
This confident Three Lions fan has plumped for Fraser Forster in net, predicting the Southampton stopper – who has impressed this season – to replace regular first-choice keeper Joe Hart.
The prediction for England’s defence pairs Tottenham stars Danny Rose and Kyle Walker at left and right-back respectively, with a central pairing of Gary Cahill and Chris Smalling.
It’s a strong back four, and it would be no surprise if those are Hodgson’s choices in the England rearguard when they clash with Leonid Slutsky’s men.
Beyond that, this Ladbrokes customer has predicted a highly attacking line-up which is set to produce plenty of goals and excitement if the England boss sets up this way.
A midfield of Eric Dier, Wayne Rooney, and Raheem Sterling would be supporting a front three comprised of Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane, and Danny Welbeck. That proposed strikeforce have shared 51 goals between them during this Premier campaign, and could prove too hot for the Russian backline if selected.
Many would love to see such an attacking England side in France this summer, but with the former Fulham boss having a sizeable pool of players to choose from it’s a 25/1 shot that his choices match with our customer’s predictions.
The Three Lions are a safer bet at 5/6 to win Group B (with Wales and Slovakia the other two sides involved) while it’s 9/1 that Hodgson can lead England to win this tournament for the very first time.
