Raheem no dream selection according to majority of England fans

Unlike another recent poll, there was little to divide our Twitter followers when it came to assessing Roy Hodgson’s apparent willingness to bring Raheem Sterling back into the England fold.

In a pretty decisive result a whopping 83 per cent labelled it a ‘bad decision’ with just 17 per cent agreeing that it was right for Raheem to take Adam Lallana’s place in the starting line-up.

The tricky winger was panned following lacklustre performances against Russia and Wales, with those unimpressive displays prompting the Three Lions boss to drop the Manchester City player for the Slovakia game.

But despite Sterling’s failure to light up England’s Euro 2016 campaign so far, it appears that the man in charge is going to recall his diamond in the rough for tonight’s last-16 clash against Iceland.

The move represents a big gamble by Hodgson with Sterling believed to have been very upset at perceived unfair criticism levelled at him on Social Media.

Whether the 21-year-old can prove his doubters wrong in Nice is up for debate although our traders are offering some juicy odds should you be in the minority who believe he can come good again.

Sterling is 5/2 to assist a goal or 14/1 to assist two or more goals. Meanwhile, the speedster is evens to complete a full 90 minutes and 50/1 to score in both halves against England’s Nordic opponents.
