Odds slashed on Man United bringing Pogba home to Old Trafford

| 15.07.2016

Paul Pogba’s fate seems to finally be sealed, with odds of the midfielder returning to Manchester United cut from Evens into just 4/9.

The 23-year-old exited Old Trafford in 2012 having played just 68 minutes of football for the Red Devils’ first-team, with his departure seen by many as the biggest error of Sir Alex Ferguson’s managerial career.

But United fans could quickly forget about the midfielder’s absence, if he can repeat the success he’s enjoyed at Juventus, with the talismanic Pogba powering the Old Lady to four Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia triumphs and a Champions League final during just four years in Italy.

And chances are the French powerhouse will slot right back in at the club he described this week as his “first family”.

It’s 4/5 that Pogba wins a Premier League title with the north-west giants, while it’s 6s that he brings the Champions League trophy back to the Old Trafford cabinet.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Get ready to see the world transfer record shattered and Old Trafford in raptures as one of their own makes a stunning return to his footballing family.”

United are currently 7/2 second-favourites to lift next season’s Premier League crown, but wrapping up a deal for the world-class Pogba could see those odds take an instant tumble.
