Romelu Lukaku’s Chelsea homecoming odds are slashed

Romelu Lukaku is heading towards a huge summer move back to Chelsea, according to Ladbrokes.

With speculation continuing over the future of Diego Costa, the bookies have slashed the odds on the Everton man spearheading Antonio Conte’s new-look Blues from 8/1 to just 7/4.

Reports have emerged this week that Chelsea have offered a deal worth around £50m to the Toffees, who are looking to bounce back under new boss Ronald Koeman, following a poor campaign last term.

The Belgian seems increasingly likely to swap Goodison Park for London, even if it isn’t to Stamford Bridge, with Arsenal 11/4 to land the striker.

It’s deemed a two-horse race by the bookies in the battle for the 23-year-old’s services, with Juventus and Manchester United next in the betting at 20/1.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “It’s no secret that Lukaku feels he’s outgrown Everton and the odds suggest it won’t be long before he answers the call of Conte and returns home to Stamford Bridge.”

Everton – with or without Lukaku – will begin their campaign at home to Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham, with the Merseysiders 19/10 for an opening day victory.

For Chelsea, they usher in a new era under Conte at home to West Ham. The Blues are 3/5 for three points, with those odds sure to tumble should Lukaku make a return to the Bridge.
