4/1 on Pittsburgh receiver having NFL’s most yards is a steal

Published:

Ahead of the new NFL season the Pittsburgh Steelers renegotiated wide receiver Antonio Brown’s contract to hand him a significant pay rise, but it’s not just the 28-year-old that stands to get rich.

Anyone taking our 4/1 that the Florida native records the most receiving yards in the league this term is likely to cop a significant payday too.

Brown, who has played all of his six seasons in the league with the Heinz Field club, has consistently been one of the NFL’s most feared receivers in the last three campaigns.

In each of them the Steelers’ leading man has recorded total receiving tallies of 1499 yards or more. As a result he has never been outside the league’s top two in that category.

2014 was Brown’s best year, as he led the way with 1698 total yards. He galloped to that total in 129 catches, which was also a league high and scored 13 touchdowns; his best seasonal return.

Far from resting on his laurels, Central Michigan alumni returned last season by once again making the most catches in the NFL, only this time he improved his number to 136.

Brown’s total reception yards also took a spike, but despite his upturn in performances he was beaten into top spot by the Atlanta Falcons’ Julio Jones, who bettered Brown’s yardage of 1834 by 37.

Jones is our second favourite in the market at 11/2 but is suffering from an ankle injury picked up in pre-season. Couple that with Brown’s metronomic performances and it is really quite tough to look beyond the Steelers man.
