Bournemouth’s Wilshere loan voted deal of Deadline Day

Bournemouth’s capture of Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere on a season-long loan was the stand-out deal of Deadline Day.

That’s according to the voters on our Twitter poll today, which ask to you tell us which deal you reckoned was best of the lot yesterday.

Wilshere was up against David Luiz’s return to Chelsea, Tottenham’s £30m acquisition of Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle, and Leicester smashing their record books again with the £29m arrival of Islam Slimani.

Jack the lad came out top though with a sizeable 48 per cent of the vote, with many clearly reckoning Eddie Howe and the Cherries have got themselves a great deal, having seen off Roma AC Milan, and Crystal Palace for the England international.

Second place went to Slimani joining Leicester, with 22 per cent of you feeling like that was the deal of the day, and it’s little wonder too with the Foxes now boasting one of the speediest attacking forces in Premier League history.

That left the return of the erratic and dramatic David Luiz to Chelsea. The move seems to have split Blues fans between delight and despair, but it hasn’t won much favour in today’s poll, with just 17 per cent of the vote.

And lastly comes Sissoko’s move to White Hart Lane. This story ebbed and flowed more than the River Nile yesterday, but eventually the French midfielder waved goodbye to Newcastle to join Spurs.

It was the second-biggest deal of the day at £30m, but you clearly don’t fancy it to be too successful, with the move gaining only 13 per cent of our poll today.
