Guardiola targets Atletico’s Griezmann to complete Man City revolution

If reports are to be believed, Sergio Aguero could find himself linking up with Antoine Griezmann at Manchester City in potential partnership to send shivers down Premier League defences.

With Rojiblancos boss Diego Simeone set to leave at the end of next season, Griezmann has already suggested he may look elsewhere once the Argentine departs.

That’s set the ears wagging for the Premier League’s big boys, and the latest reports are linking Man City with a move for the star forward.

Chelsea and Manchester United have also been talked of as potential destinations for the French ace.

Griezmann only signed a new contract with Los Rojiblancos in the summer, and it included a monster a £85m release fee.

But that’s unlikely to halt Guardiola’s plans to turn City into domestic and European supremos.

The forward shone for Atletico last season, scoring 29 goals as the Vicente Calderon outfit reached another Champions League final, while also finishing just three points off the pace in the La Liga title race.

Griezmann took that form onto the international stage in the summer’s European Championships, bagging six goals and two assists for Les Blues to be named player of the tournament.

With eight goals and five assists for Atletico this term, Griezmann is seemingly showing that both form and class are permanent.
