Everton could be about re-launch the career of Memphis Depay, following reports linking the Manchester United winger with a loan move to Goodison Park.

Depay has been frozen out at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho, playing a grand total of 20 minutes in the Premier League this season.

He hasn’t even been a regular in Europe or the EFL Cup, racking up under an hour of football in both tournaments.

The Dutchman’s United career looks to be over, but a loan move across to Everton could be his chance to show Mourinho what he’s missing.

Impress at Everton and the move could also become permanent in the summer, according to reports in the press.

Similarly, a good second half of the season could see the 22-year-old court attention from Europe.

The Toffees signed Yannick Bolasie in the summer to supply Romelu Lukaku on the left, and Depay’s arrival could turn that tricky duo into a trio stocked full of attacking prowess.

It was only two seasons ago that Depay was firing in 28 goals in 40 games for PSV, and that talent would be welcomed at Goodison.

Everton have gone off the boil since recording their best ever start to a Premier League campaign, and have been linked with a number of mid-season deals.

The blue half of Liverpool also have a history of making a success out of United signings, including Phil Neville and Tim Howard in recent years.

Louis Saha, Darron Gibson and Tom Cleverley have also enjoyed solid careers at Goodison after moving from the Red Devils.
