Are Man United closing in on sensational deal for Barcelona ace?

| 01.12.2016

Jose Mourinho’s overhaul of the Old Trafford ranks could be set for its most incredible twist yet, with Manchester United clear favourites to sign Neymar.

The 24-year-old has chalked up six goals and an incredible 13 assists in 16 appearances for Barcelona this season, with the Brazilian having now netted 91 times since his arrival in Spain back in 2013.

However, with the Red Devils willing to pull out all the stops in their pursuit of the world’s top talent, it’s just 6/4 that Neymar makes United his next club, with 10/1 for him to join by the end of next summer.

But the 20-time English champions could face stiff competition from their fierce local rivals, with 5/1 for the former Santos star to join Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City revolution.

Meanwhile, 16/1 says he follows in the footsteps of Luis Figo with a controversial move to Real Madrid, which would make him the first player to move directly between the clubs since 2007.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Man United are building their own brand of Galacticos, and luring Neymar to Old Trafford could usher in a new golden age at the Theatre of Dreams.”

Next up for the Red Devils is a trip to Everton, with 21/20 for United to beat the Toffees for the fourth time in succession.
