Arsenal favourites to poach Dimitri Payet from West Ham

| 03.12.2016

Dimitri Payet is now just 5/1 to make Arsenal his next port of call following rumours that the Gunners are lining up a sensational swoop for the French midfielder.

Reports in The Sun suggest Arsene Wenger is considering a January bid for the 29-year-old in order to boost his side’s title charge.

And the winter transfer window could be the perfect time for Wenger to make his move with both Payet and current employers West Ham struggling to assert themselves in the Premier League this season.

The stellar performances that brought Payet to the world’s attention last term are now a distant memory.

However, Arsenal could offer the perfect escape route and opportunity for the Hammers talisman to rekindle the magic.

It’s 11/4 for Payet to leave East London in January while it’s even-money for a summer move away from the London Stadium.

Elsewhere, 6/1 says Paris Saint-Germain win the race for Dimi’s signature with 12/1 offered for a return to Marseille and 10/1 for a move to Manchester United.

Just last month, PSG were the 2/1 frontrunners in the pursuit of Payet with Arsenal way down the list at 16/1.

However, Arsene Wenger’s latest comments and news of the Gunners’ renewed potential interest have fanned the flames and brought those odds tumbling down.

Arsenal travel to West Ham for this evening’s evening kick-off with the visitors 4/6 to get back to winning ways following their midweek EFL Cup defeat.

Meanwhile, the Irons are 4/1 to notch a rare win against their London rivals with Payet 9/1 to net the opener and enjoy the perfect audition for a potential role at the Emirates.
