Hart to West Ham? Hammers consider summer move for City stopper

Get yourself a top goalkeeper and a good team can become a great team. That’s something Slaven Bilic will be hoping for with West Ham linked with a move for Manchester City’s Joe Hart.

The deal wouldn’t be done until the summer, and according to reports in the press is a consideration only if the Hammers can avoid relegation this season.

Defensive lapses have derailed the east Londoners’ campaign, and though Adrian and Darren Randolph are handy stoppers, signing Hart would be a real coup.

The England goalkeeper has enjoyed a solid stint in Italy with Torino, and the Turin outfit are enjoying their best season in years.

Hart seemingly has no future under Pep Guardiola at City, with Claudio Bravo very much the Spaniard’s number one keeper.

Saturday’s results ensured the Hammers dropped into the bottom three, and Bilic faces a very real relegation battle unless results improve quickly.

And they may well do some transfer business before a serious move for Hart in the summer.

Daniel Sturridge remains a possible option for a January move, with the east Londoners under pressure to make mid-season improvements.

Reports continue to link star man Dimitri Payet with a move away, and it has been touted that the club will need to sign at least two players in January to persuade the French ace to stay.
