Wenger eyes Monaco star as potential Sanchez successor

| 10.12.2016

With reports continuing to link Arsenal’s star man Alexis Sanchez with a departure from the north London club, Arsene Wenger may have just found the man to hill the Chilean’s boots.

Monaco midfielder Gabriel Boschilia is quickly becoming one of the hottest prospects in Europe, with a string of fine performances for the French outfit.

And at just 20 years of age, the Brazilian’s potential for greatness is strong.

Primarily an attacking midfielder through the middle, Boschilia is also adept on either flank, and can hold his own in a holding-playmaker role too.

Handed his debut this season, Monaco are easing the former Sao Paulo player into first team duties, and eight of his 11 appearances this term have come from the bench.

It’s even more impressive then, that Boschilia has managed to net four goals already this term, plus an assist.

Monaco have their star player tied down until 2020, but they face a growing list of admirers.

Arsenal are one of the sides heavily linked with Boschilia, with the future of Sanchez still far from certain.

Talks have reportedly stalled with the Chilean international over a new contract, with Chelsea believed to be preparing a big-money move.

Wenger will be keeping a keen eye on Boschilia’s performances as the season goes on, with Italian giants Juventus also keen.

The 20-year-old is currently valued at just over £3m by transfermarkt.co.uk, but that will surely skyrocket if he continues to impress.

Arsenal visit Everton on Tuesday night, with the bookies 10/11 for yet another victory.
