Matt Holt and Paul King fancy these teams to cause cup shocks

Bolton Wanderers - Macron Stadium

Can you feel the magic? We know at least two lads who are absolutely buzzing ahead of this weekend’s cracking card of Emirates FA Cup Third Round fixtures.

But it’s not just the romance of the world’s oldest cup competition that’s got Matt Holt and Paul King all hot and bothered.

They’re also interested in the great value and cold, hard cash to be made from betting on some of this weekend’s biggest underdogs.

Our men are eyeing-up the following shocks and they want you to get involved too…

Lincoln to beat Ipswich – 5/1

This is one I’ve liked the look of since the Third Round Draw confirmed these sides would meet at Portman Road.

Lincoln have already dispatched of higher ranked opposition in the form of Oldham Athletic in their televised Second Round tie and have been in outstanding form all season.

The Imps have lost just once in their last 19 games in all competitions and look good to make that 20 against an Ipswich side that traditionally comes up short in the FA Cup.

The Tractor Boys haven’t won in the Third Round since January 2010. They’ve lost their last six ties (going winless in nine), crashing out to League Two side Portsmouth last season.

Sutton to beat AFC Wimbledon – 13/5

AFC Wimbledon came incredibly close to not making the Third Round at all. The Dons trailed 3-0 at Curzon Ashton after 80 minutes but three goals in three minutes and a last-gasp winner saw them through against the National League North outfit.

Sutton are a league above Curzon and will be looking to make it an unhappy return for Wimbledon – who played their first game as a newly formed side in 2002 at Sutton’s Gander Green Lane.

A repeat of that scoreline, 4-0 to Sutton, would be welcome. They’ve only lost once in their last 12 home games and just twice since the opening day of the season.

Wimbledon, on the other hand, have won just one of their last six games in all competitions.

Oxford United to beat Rotherham – 7/4

Rotherham have had a season to forget thus far and barring a miracle look certain to be relegated from the Championship this season.

Recording just three wins in all competitions this season and a whopping 19 defeats, an FA Cup tie is the last thing The Millers need right now.

Oxford United will be well up for causing a cup upset this weekend. The League One outfit are unbeaten in their last five trips away from Kassam Stadium, winning their last three.

Bolton Wanderers to beat Crystal Palace – 23/10

Bolton are in phenomenal form at home and the Lancashire side look a decent bet to return to the Championship this season.

The Trotters have won an incredible ten games in a row at the Macron Stadium and will be more than confident to fill the role of “giant-killers” this weekend.

Palace have been woeful so far this season and are in serious danger of dropping in to the second-tier of English football. The Eagles are poor away from home too and haven’t won away from Selhurst Park since September.
