Millwall v Watford: Hornets have it all to do if they’re to win at the Den

Millwall betting

Plenty will look at Sunday afternoon’s Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round meeting between Millwall and Watford and think that the Hornets represent great value at 13/10 to grab a victory.

And while the visitors are some 42 places higher than their opponents in the football pyramid, it’s worth putting more thought into this fixture before placing your bets.

Ladbrokes News runs you through some key points worth considering…

Seven in 10 at the Den

Seven of the last 10 sides to travel to Millwall in all competitions have ended up losing.

And in those matches, the Lions have netted an impressive 21 goals.

Meanwhile, Watford have won just two of their last 10 away trips, scoring just nine goals in the process.

Does that point towards a Millwall win at 21/10?

But the H2H records point towards a Watford win

Putting recent form to one side, if we were to look at psychological advantages heading into this fixture, you’d have to say the statistics favour the visitors.

Of their last 10 meetings, the Hornets have won seven, compared to Millwall’s one. Both sides have found the net in 40 per cent of those meetings, with Watford scoring 22 goals to Millwall’s six.

With that in mind, if you’re thinking of backing Walter Mazzarri’s men, there could be some value in the 16/5 on offer for them to win to nil.

Both sides have history in this competition

It’s worth noting that both clubs take this competition very seriously.

In fact, Watford and Millwall have each reached the semi-finals of the Emirates FA Cup in the last four seasons.

Having failed to reach the Fourth Round in any of the last three campaigns though, the hosts will be looking to find their form of old in this competition.

But Watford will be kicking themselves for not reaching last year’s final after losing out to Crystal Palace in the semis.

With all that in mind, we’re expecting a feisty affair, and both nets could be bulging at a constant rate.

It’s 4/6 for both teams to score, while the 10/11 for over 2.5 goals also looks like cracking value.
