Ladbrokes Challenge Cup - Wembley

The BBC Sport cameras chose the right game to focus their attention on last weekend with Siddal’s incredible victory headlining in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup Second Round.

Pilkington Recs were the side on the receiving end of a tremendous second-half comeback as the Halfiax outfit came from 10-0 down at the break to win 34-10.

Captain and Man of the Match Shaun Garrod was instrumental in helping his troops turn the tide.

Not only did he get on the scoresheet, Garrod also produced a fine piece of play to set-up team-mate Gareth Blackburn.

Check out this cheeky bit of skill from Siddal’s star man.

It’ pretty special!

Warriors unexpectedly rout the Lions

Wests Warriors were only founded in 2014 but the London Men’s League champions have come a long way in such a short time.

The capital club caused the shock of the round by defeating the Featherstone Lions 26-0 away from home.

Wests finished 31 places and three divisions below their NCL Division 1 hosts in 2016, highlighting the magnitude of this fantastic achievement.

Haydock and Fryston also fly the flag for the eighth tier

First Round giantkillers Haydock produced some more cup magic to defeat BARLA National Cup winners Thornhill Trojans 30-20 on home turf.

Castleford-based Fryston Warriors are the final eighth division side in the hat having eased to a 40-16 victory over the London Chargers.

Rochdale Mayfield go for gold and taste glory

Extra-time was needed to separate Rochdale Mayfield and hosts Kells with the former eventually triumphing 16-14.

The 2016 Challenge Trophy winners found themselves 6-4 down at half-time before levelling the game just before its conclusion.

Mayfield’s penalty goal from in front of the posts decided matters in the additional period.
